Bradley Cooper and Cate Blanchett lead an all-star cast in this psychological thriller co-written and directed by Guillermo del Toro. Ambitious confidence trickster Stanton Carlisle (Cooper) uses his job as a carny to learn the special technique clairvoyant Zeena the Seer (Toni Collette) uses to convince her unsuspecting customers she can read their minds. Stanton leaves the carnival with his lover and fellow performer Molly (Rooney Mara) and reinvents himself as a high-society psychic in Chicago working alongside psychiatrist Dr Lilith Ritter (Blanchett).

However, their lucrative scheme begins to fall apart as Stanton and Lilith's deceptions are revealed.
