The Story

Gothic horror written and directed by Werner Herzog which serves as a remake of F.W. Murnau's silent classic 'Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror' (1922) and as an adaptation of Bram Stoker's novel 'Dracula'. Estate agent Jonathan Harker (Bruno Ganz) arrives at Count Dracula (Klaus Kinski)'s castle in Transylvania to complete the sale of a property Dracula is purchasing in the town of Wismar in Germany.

Despite having been warned that the Count is a vampire, Jonathan remains skeptical but his time at the castle soon rids him of any doubt as to Dracula's true nature. In an attempt to escape he injures himself and is hospitalised while Dracula moves to Wismar and preys on Jonathan's wife Lucy (Isabelle Adjani)...
