In Time concentrates on R.E.M.'s recordings and although it may be missing 17 issued singles -- "Pop Song 89," "Texarkana," "Drive," "Ignoreland," "Bang and Blame," "Strange Currencies," "Crush with Eyeliner," "Bittersweet Me," and "Shiny Happy People" among them -- this 18-track compilation does present a reasonably accurate portrait of R.E.M. the adult alternative pop band, containing the band's big hits of 1988-2003, including "Losing My Religion" and "Man on the Moon." ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
