This cult erotic drama from one of France's most daring and challenging filmmakers, Alain Robbe-Grillet (director of Trans-Europ-Express and writer of the classic Last Year in Marienbad), stars Jean-Louis Trintignant (Haneke's Amour and Bertolucci's The Conformist) and a young Isabelle Huppert. When a girl is found dead, bound to the posts of her bed with a pair of scissors impaled in her heart, a young woman - the girl's flatmate - falls under suspicion and is questioned by police and judges, suspected of being a modern witch.
